Dalton House offers a contemporary luxury living experience. Guests staying in the owner’s home are offered the same experience that the owner gets when he stays on his Private Reserve - exclusive use of the property and the freedom of Dalton’s substantial resources and highly trained staff. The house itself consists of three double rooms en suite, and boasts a state of the art audio-visual installation, an open air rooftop spa and barbecue area, internet connectivity, a private all weather tennis court, all set in stunning grounds with elevated views of this beautiful area of KwaZulu-Natal. Dalton House is available to a minimum of four guests.
The one-bedroomed Lake Cottage – tucked away in the heart of Dalton Private Reserve – is an expression of understated luxury, designed to provide privacy and an appreciation of seclusion, immersed in the natural beauty of the reserve. With a combination of elegant surroundings and the peace and quiet of the African bush, the Lake Cottage is perfect as a romantic honeymoon getaway.
Experience true Zulu hospitality at its best in the unique lodge of Zulu Waters. It is the rivers that define the features of Dalton, and this lodge takes full advantage of their scenic beauty with its location overlooking the Bushman’s river.Built with local stone and thatch, the rustic exteriors of the suites belie the warmth that awaits the visitor. The true comfort of this lodge is found upon entering to find a space lit with candles and lamps, and beds bedecked with the finest linens, all in the glow of wood fires. The lodge boasts six double suites, four of which are en suite, providing accommodation for up to twelve persons. Zulu Waters is an exclusive-use venue and is available to a group (minimum of six persons).
Visitors to lodge, cottage and house are provided with a private chef. Many of the ingredients used for the meals are drawn from the reserve itself, from Blesbuck venison to organic vegetables. All beverages, with the exception of fine wines and champagne, are also included. The Dalton House wine cellar completes a well-considered food experience; the owner’s private wine collection awaits their exploration and is sure to yield some of its treasures to a discerning wine lover. Dalton is above all about experiences. Activities included in the price above are horse riding, game drives, guided walks, fly fishing, clay pigeon shooting, tennis and paint ball. Add on activities that can be arranged at extra cost include hot air ballooning, massage and spa treatments, wing shooting. Dalton Private Reserve also specialises in delivering exclusive helicopter tours. We are able to offer guests the opportunity to access the Battlefields region, guided by a local historian for a uniquely personalised insight into the region’s history. Whichever of the three venues you stay in, a unique African experience awaits, in one of the most beautiful settings that the country has to offer.
