Mont Plaisir is a working asparagus and grain farm with a 360 degrees view, located 6 km out of Fouriesburg town, with three luxurious self-catering units and one B&B room in the historic Old Main House. Mont Plaisir also offers 4x4 day trips in the area and into Lesotho with its majestic Maluti Mountains, the Katse Dam, the various nature reserves, and of course snow skiing in winter at Afri-ski. For the more adventures we also have several overnight tours into Lesotho. Accommodation All the buildings have fireplaces and their own braai facilities (fire wood is provided ). The units are all fully equipped and include all linen and bath towels. All beds are either queen size or single, with extra length mattresses. The accommodation is set in a beautiful garden with lots of trees and spectacular views. In the garden is a lapa, where, while having a cool drink, one can enjoy the spectacular sunsets or gaze at the stars at night.
The Old Main House
In the Old Main House is a beautifully appointed bedroom with a large en-suite bathroom available for bed and breakfast. The room is situated at a beautiful stoep with built-in braai and has its own entrance.
The Farm House
A big old farm house, partly build from sandstone. Large lounge with fireplace, beautifully appointed, fully equipped kitchen, three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a nice veranda and a braai facility. It can accommodate six, but the bedrooms are large enough to put in additional beds.
The Rondavel
Beautifully appointed, with a lounge with fire place and a fully equipped pantry, a bedroom with en-suite bathroom (shower). There is a braai facility outside. It accommodates two persons, and in the lounge is a sleeper couch for 2 children.
The Chalet
Set with the front to the west, it offers from the veranda the most stunning sunsets over the White Mountains. The bedroom has one queen size bed and a three quarter bed and an en-suite bathroom (shower). In the lounge is a double sleeper couch.
The Field Cottage
This little jewel is something special. This exceptionally beautiful unit is built from sandstone and thatch and will offer you full privacy and luxurious comfort. It is situated on a slope overlooking the valley and the mountains and you will see lots of birds and wild life.
It has a spacious beautifully furnished lounge with fireplace. It has one bedroom with en-suite bathroom (shower) and a double sleeper couch in the lounge. It has a comfortable fully equipped kitchen.
There is a beautiful thatched veranda from which you can enjoy the sunset over the mountains. The bedroom, bathroom and kitchen are equipped with under floor heating. This unit is perfect for those who want to enjoy privacy and be in the middle of nature, but also can appreciate some extra luxury.
Rates Mont Plaisir Rates: The Farm House: R 1300.00 per night for the unit (6 persons). Additional beds (max 3) are R 60.00 per night per bed. The Field Cottage: R 800.00 per night for the unit (4 persons). The Chalet: R 750.00 per night for the unit (5 persons). The Rondavel: R 550.00 per night for the unit (4 persons). Room in the Old Main House: R 500.00 for two persons sharing per night. R 300.00 for single use per night. Specials: During mid weeks, from Monday until Thursday with a minimum of 2 nights, for all units 15% discount. For stays longer then 5 days there are special discounts. The specials are not applicable on national holidays, long weekends, during the school holidays. Terms and conditions: Reservations must be confirmed with a 50% deposit within 48 hours. Check-in time 14.00 hrs and check-out time 10.00 hrs unless otherwise arranged. During school holidays, national holidays and long weekends a minimum of 2 nights mandatory.
