Mountain Splendour camping and caravanning resort is located in the spectacular Champagne Valley, Central Drakensberg. It is a family owned and operated resort situated on a farm with dramatic views directly facing the towering peaks of Champagne Castle, Cathkin Peak and Sterkhorn. These mountains are located in the Monks Cowl Reserve that forms part of the Ukhahlamba Drakensberg Park, a World Heritage Site.

We were recently awarded a 4-star grading by the Tourism Grading Council of South Africa which is considered 'Excellent'. Currently, there are only five 5-star or 'Exceptional' camping/caravan resorts in South Africa and we are certainly striving to be accredited into that elite category! Furthemore, we are AA Quality assured.

We cater for all our guests needs by providing spotless communal and private ablutions with constant hot water, spacious, well-shaded sites, each with their own plug point and braai.

*Minimum charge of 2 adults per night during MID, MID-HGH and HIGH seasons.

HIGH SEASON:             21 – 27 Apr, 23 Dec – 2 Jan 2012

MID-HIGH SEASON:      28 Apr – 2 May, 15 – 22 Dec, 3 - 10 Jan 2012

MID SEASON:               18–21 Mar, 25 Mar-10 Apr, 15-19 June, 5-9 Aug, 30 Sep-9 Oct, 9-15 Dec, 11-17 Jan

LOW SEASON:             Remainder of the year

TARIFFS INCLUDE:        Electricity (one 15 AMP plug point per site)

                                     Freezer space (one bag per site)

                                     Assistance to set-up tents and tea on arrival (during office hours)

PENSIONERS:              40% discount on per person rate. Valid during low season only.

STUDENTS:                  40% discount on per person per night rate. Valid during low season only & student cards required.

DAY VISITORS:             R40 per adult, R25 per child. Low season only.

MOUNTAIN BIKE TRAIL R30 per person. All seasons.

DEPOSITS:                   Full amount due within 7 days of booking if total less than R2,000.00

For all other bookings 50% required within 7 days of booking and balance due 2 weeks prior to arrival date. Deposits are non-refundable as per terms & conditions.

PAYMENT METHODS: Credit Cards, Debit Cards and Cash. Free internet access available for EFT payments.

PENALTIES / FINES:     R200 per day per pet; R100 speeding fine; R50 littering fine

SPECIALS:                   R1,500 per PENSIONER couple per month. Low season only. Min. 15 days. Book for 4 nights and pay for 3: any low season periods.

                                     LOW season rates during June, July & August long weekends and school holidays
